# David Pettersson — somaticbits > David Pettersson (somaticbits) is a creative technologist working with generative systems, real-time graphics, and immersive environments. Over a decade building at the edge of what browsers, game engines, and custom hardware can do — spanning gallery installations, digital fashion, interactive worlds, and pieces that exist between art and software. ## Practice David works across medium and discipline: - **Generative Art** — Algorithmic and code-driven work spanning WebGL, WebAssembly, and node-based environments. - **Immersive Experiences** — Browser-accessible worlds and physical installations built in Unreal Engine. - **Real-time Graphics** — Live rendering pipelines for interactive installations and reactive visual systems. - **Interactive Installations** — Physical and hybrid works driven by depth sensing, gesture tracking, and spatial interaction. - **AR / XR** — Augmented and extended reality experiences. - **Web Experiments** — Generative SVG, WebAssembly, and live graphics native to the browser. ## Selected Work - **Clarins Virtual World** — Browser-based immersive world for the Clarins Double Serum launch, featuring an AI face-swap tool, across 12 markets and 10 languages. Built with Unreal Engine and pixel streaming. - **AMG Mercedes 3D Billboard** — Interactive 3D billboard for Mercedes-AMG reacting in real time to viewers' gestures and clothing colours. Unreal Engine, NDisplay multi-screen. - **iF Design Metaverse Experience** — Browser-based metaverse showcasing all 75 Gold Award winners of the iF Design Award 2024, with an integrated live streaming and VOD layer. - **Diesel Metamorph Experience** — Metaverse for the Diesel VERT watch launch, spanning five cities with NFT avatars and a live concert finale. - **Legacy Of Tomorrow** — Metaverse Fashion Week runway show built in Unreal Engine, presenting 14 designs in a luxury desert environment. - **Audi IAA** — Four AR filters built on Meta Spark AR that interacted with Audi cars on stage. - **Digital Organics** — Generative art rendering synthetic nature by algorithm; each mint unique. Built in Cables.gl, minted on fxhash. - **Savage** — Generative art using SVG as a medium and Rust + WebAssembly as the engine. - **Flow** — WebGL displacement feedback experiment in Cables.gl, inspired by Kim Asendorf. - **Metamedia** — Browser-native, open-source container for layered multimedia art, built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. ## Collaborations Selected work made with: Mercedes-AMG, Clarins, Audi, Diesel, iF Design, Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW). ## Contact - Email: website@somaticbits.com - Site: https://www.somaticbits.com - Open to collaborations, commissions, and conversations about work at the edge of code and experience.
